  • Opera House all the way to the roof
  • Ekeberg restaurant/panorama
  • Akershus festning&the museums
  • Aker brygge/the harbor + Råd huset (yesterday I saw people on top of the building, can you go all the way up there? Must be cool to see the city from there). Plus if the funpark is open, spend 10 mins in the big wheel so you get a nice view over the city again. Also can be some cool street performances in the square. One can have a drink/dinner/lunch on one of the restaurant boats in the harbor
  • Karl Johann street from Oslo S to the Palace and if lucky catch the guard change mini ceremony. Stop for street performances. Stop and watch the parliament building on the way, the university, the old building hotels and try to read the words on the asphalt. Also stop at the cool fountain at National Theatre
  • Holmenkollen and ski museum(whenever it opens again) plus the lovely ride by train all the way up
  • Trefoldighetskirken, a cool church next to the Deichmanske bibliotek (apparently Oslo's largest church) TO OSLO PEOPLE: help! I need to know what this is. Actually could use more info on Oslo cathedrals
  • a walk by the Askerelva starting from Grønland. Grab some bread to feed the flying creatures
  • Youngstorget and the street with cinemas and lots of shops that takes you to the big Cathedral in the center
  • The Cathedral on Karl Johann (pics needed now that they uncovered it)
  • the hand fountain next to Kontraskjæret
  • take the elevator up on Radisson hotel and have a cocktail at the bar while enjoying the panorama over the city
  • Det Åpne Teater square in Grønland (with the Mekaniske Verkstad cozy bar and plenty of outside chairs)
  • Ferry to the islands (take it from Vippetangen, you reach there with bus 60) and ferry to see the museums at Bigdøy (this one you take it from the harbor in front of the red Town Hall). Read more about islands on the islands page.
  • Dyvekkes bro bus station to have a look at the half pipe (cool skating performances and almost weekly, if not daily, changing graffittis. You see the artists in action)
  • To see some live lizards and spiders, you can pay a visit to the Reptile park
  • If lucky enough to visit around Christmas, try out Julebrus
